Initial Teacher Training
In partnership with
The NELT Hub is proud to have our very own outstanding teacher training provider - North East SCITT (formerly Shotton Hall SCITT).

With around 100 primary and secondary trainee recruits each year, the SCITT has established itself as a trusted and preferred provider of school-based initial teacher training across the region.
A strong partnership with the National Institute of Teaching and Birmingham University means trainees get the best of both worlds training in schools from day one with their PGCE awarded by a UK university.
By the end of the ‘back to school’ morning I had made up my mind – I was going to change career, and North East SCITT was going to be the place I did it.
