ITT Strategic Role

What is the ITT Strategic Role?

The ITT Strategic Role is all about giving regions across England the tools they need to train the next generation of teachers effectively. Designated by the Department for Education (DfE), this responsibility falls on all Teaching School Hubs (TSH) to provide crucial support to initial teacher training (ITT) providers and schools in their local areas.

Here in County Durham, as your Teaching School Hub, we aim to build stronger connections with ITT providers and schools across our region. By working closely together, we can ensure that aspiring teachers receive the top-tier training they deserve.
Want to offer ITT placements?
Are you interested in becoming more involved in the training of the next generation of teachers? Offering ITT placements is a rewarding way to contribute to the development of aspiring educators while enriching your school community.
By providing placements, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the future of teaching and have the opportunity to mentor and support trainees as they begin their journey.
Get in touch with us to explore how you can become a host school for ITT placements.
